well if i did it with beijing, whats more, the 3rd best city to live in the world ( souce cnn)

well i finally did it again after 5 years. i made my 2nd trip to the paradise on earth in the form of japan. northwest came knocking with their dirt cheap air tickets and the moment i saw them i knew i just had to go to get away from the shitte here. up til now as im typing, i cant believe i just made the trip there. all seemed so surreal. everything was perfect except some decisions/purchases i made. i wanna have a travel journal i can look back to fondly if the shitte here gets too intense and remind myself of my goal and theres actually magical out there ( im avoiding 'something worth living out there' so as not to sound too emo)

1st day: daikanyama and odaiba. i managed to get to asakusa from narita through the trains. densha de asakusa e ikimashita. but i sort of got lost from the train station onwards because the maps were somewhat different. so i wandered aimlessly around taito cho in the rain until i decided enough was enough and i hailed a cab. yes a cab in tokyo. never would i have thought that i will actually take a cab there. the hostel was actually quite good. in fact i cant think of anything wrong with it except for the location which was really far from town area (shinjuku shibuya etc.) first place i went to was daikanyama. it was a town with all the indie jap labels with shop houses here and there.the things there were pretty ex but cool nonetheless. stuffs there were way out of my price range though. odaiba was next but the rain and the lack of discipline in sticking to the itenary ruined the odaiba experience. i fell in love with odaiba the first time i went there. everything is just so pretty there. im already having really big plans for odaiba in the future (think kohibito) in the end i didnt get to visit my toyshop in aqua city. well im actually in odaiba and im not complaining.

2nd day: akihabara, the electronic city. that was where i encountered this biru of sex. b1 to l1: its just porn all over and its weird to be hearing moaning in public places. l2: where all you cosplay fantasies get fulfilled. french maid costumes to nurse gowns and naughty school girl outfits. l3: all the different sex toys. black dildos the size of your forearm? different and weird flavoured condoms ( i saw a menthol one) l4: SM. i saw the whip. freakin 80sing but it looks like it packs quite a punch. what an eye opener really. i very much wanted to go to the maid cafe to see what was all the fuss about but well ...... after that, went back to hostel to get ready for clubbing. while waiting, i managed to make a few friends. i thought this was really cool because i always wanted to have friends from all around the world. while waiting i ventured around and went to uni qlo. i never been to a uni qlo before then so i decided to see what was so good at uni qlo that the outlet back here had to refuse ppl entry. and in the end it didnt disappoint. the clothes there were really nice and i can literally spend all my money there but i didnt of course for the fear that whatever they were selling there can be bought here. ( in the end i visited the tampines outlet and the standard of the stuff they were selling were in tampines were nowhere near of the asakusa outlet) and there came my bigget regret. it just didnt occur to me that i should make some japanese friends at the point of time? clubbing was okay. it was this really small random neighborhood club. the people were friendly and stuff. made friends there again!

3rd day: shinjuku. decided not to let the hangover get the better of me and woke up relatively early around 10. ventured around asakusa looking at the touristy stuffs they sell along sensoji and went to shinjuku around afternoon. at night, went to kabukicho. got approached by lots of black men and japanese men in suits touting. neon lights were really pretty though ( im a sucker for neon lights for some reason)

4th day: harajuku. the rain just ruined everything once again. the rain caused a really major human traffic jam there. didnt get to see the famous harajuku ppl with the queer and interesting costumes. but well harajuku was where i got my 'buy' of the trip. headed to the tokyo metropolitan govt office to check out the observatory tower. not exactly a wise choice i would say. with the rain and all, you cant see much. it was said that on a clear day you can even see mount fuji. it was quite a walk from shinjuku train station as well. roppongi was next. it was one of the 'must go ' places. i wanted to go there for the clubbing but clubbing wasnt wise considering that it is a 5 day trip and i wouldnt want a day to be wasted sleeping in. i had a delicious hanbaagu for dinner and went to check out the new roppongi shopping complex. they have this really nice garden with a good view of tokyo tower. a fitting finale for my last night

5th day: went back to harajuku to get a tshirt for a friend since she specifically requested. better luck this time with the weather. after that spent forty five freaking bucks on a cab. the flight home was quite freaky. was watching the day the earth stood still (i know crappy movie) but with some pretty intense turbulence? two hours of it was quite a lot to take.

up til now im still thinking of my trip there, what was i doing at this point of the day when i was there blah blah blah. im already planning my next trip there and hopefully it will be the people that matters most to me, outwar and my prospective kanojou. well ultimately, my goal literally lies outside of singapore and hopefully, the steps i am taking in place to achieve the goal are the correct steps to take. uni beckons and that is quite big a step. econs or pol science?
